Monday morning we broke a record for cold temperatures here. It was – 34.8 C around 6 AM, – 31 when we got up.

When things get that bad, you might benefit from a Celtic blessing.

The eye of God watch over you,
The foot of Christ walk with you,
The shower of the Spirit pour on you,
Richly and generously.
God’s peace to you,
Jesus peace to you,
Spirit’s peace to you,
and to your children.
To you and to your children.
Each day and night
of your portion in the world.
The compassing of the King be yours,
The surrounding of the Spirit be yours,
The compassing of Christ be yours,
until the crown of life eternal.

The guarding of the God of life be on you,
the guarding of the loving Christ be on you,
the guarding of the Spirit be on you.
Christ in you, Christ around you,
Christ above you, Christ below you,
Christ in your hands and your feet,
Christ in your mind and your heart.
Christ in your mouth, and in your ears,
Christ in all that you see,
Every day of your life,
Every night that you sleep,
where you walk and where you lay down,
where you rise and where you stay,
For you and your children,
Forever and ever,
