consumers..
At AXIOM on Tuesday evening we opened with this question:
“What are we doing that inadvertently produces consumers?”
Remember Tozer… “A church that can’t worship must be entertained & men who can’t lead a church to worship must provide entertainment.”
Do we have any idea how God sees all this? How he views our busyness and programs?
“Let not many of you become teachers, brethren..”
One of the refrains I hear from time to time in my heart .. I believe it is the Spirit.. is this:
“Let My people go!.. that they may keep my pilgrim feast in the wilderness.”
Too many churches and too many leaders are concerned to be successful. In the end we train consumers.
Worse.. we start to think it is OUR church or OUR mission. IT IS NOT.
We are called to faithfulness. Faithfulness.. and fruitfulness.. under God’s reign leads through the cross.

Len,
The quote from Tozer is killer …. especially for those of us involved in contemporary worship where it can become a ’spectator sport’ all so easily. I am going to dwell on this for a while.
Thanks,
Paul
